Tummy Fat

There are different reasons why we develop tummy fat. It can be caused from being overweight and your body’s tendency to store fat in the abdominal area–or it can be caused by hormonal imbalances which can often cause bloating. Some people have difficulty digesting carbohydrates in food and are more prone to develop bloating and abdominal distension after eating a meal that is high in carbs.
While the goal should be to adjust our diets to be more healthy and agreeable with our individual digestive systems, there are also ways to disguise tummy fat until we reach our healthy eating goals.
Here are a few ways to hide the tummy fat.
Don’t Skimp On Undergarments. One trick is to use the right undergarments. If you wear pantyhose, choose control top pantyhose–there are several types of control tops in varying degrees of “control”. “Spanx” is a very popular brand and is found both on-line and in many department stores. They can be a bit pricey, but are worth the extra money in my opinion. This is one of the secrets of fashion models when they are walking the runway. The extra pressure on your back will help you to remember to hold in your stomach which leads to tighter muscles over time. These sort of body shapers fit snugly and help to reduce the appearance of tummy fat.
Watch your posture. Some people appear to have a larger tummy due to poor posture. Think about how you stand or walk if you think this is not true. You will notice you are slumped slightly creating a larger tummy than you may really have. Throw your shoulders back and pull in your abdominal muscles when you are walking or standing. It will take practice but you will see a huge difference in your appearance.
Clothing That Flatters. Dress to help reduce the appearance of the tummy fat. One such example is a wrap dress or an empire style dress. The high waist will disguise the tummy bulge. You will appear taller which also reduces the appearance of the tummy fat.
Avoid wearing pants that are too tight or constrictive with pleats that draw the eye to your tummy area. Wear a printed design on the pants to create a new illusion that distracts from the tummy area. Wear a blouse or shirt with a scalloped or fringe edge that hangs lower than your belly. Tunics are all the rage right now and come in very flattering styles.
Your clothing makes a difference in your appearance so alter how you dress to create a slimmer appearance that distracts from embarrassing tummy fat areas.
